Dragons might live forever, but they need some tender loving care to remain at their best. In 2019, volunteers once again worked with Leathers and Associates to refurbish the wooden structure and, more importantly, to make the play area more accessible to children with disabilities. The west end of the play area was pushed out another 50 feet to allow the addition of several pieces of equipment designed especially for children with special needs. Approximately half of the play area was covered with poured-in-place rubber, a state-of-the art, wheelchair-friendly surface, and several colorful and welcoming new features were added. Now the dragon enthusiastically welcomes anyone brave enough to venture into his territory.
